July 30 to Aug. 01 - WNC Grand Prix Cycle Events Friday, July 30, 5:30 PM – three mile hill climb race (race will be on Old Hwy 70 path beginning west of Old Fort and ending at the top of the trail east of Black Mountain).
Saturday, July 31, 1:00PM – seven criterium races around Lake Tomahawk in Black Mountain (races will begin with juniors and end at approximately 7:30 with the completion of the men’s professional race).
Sunday, August 1, 7:30 AM – the Villainous Viper Centruy Ride (course will begin near the Folk Art Center on the Blue Ridge Parkway, go north through the mountains, through downtown Burnsville, west of Hwy 26, along French Broad River, corss Merrimon Ave., climb Elk Mountain and back down the Parkway to the starting point). For those who do not want to ride the full 100 miles, there will be a 62 mile short course).

July 30 - Balsam Range in Concert You do not want to miss this show at your Burnsville Town Center at 7:30 p.m. Very talented and popular North Carolina bluegrass band returning to the stage to entertain you. Doors open at 7:00. Tickets are $12.

July 31 - Mayland Community College Motorcycle Poker Run Registration begins at 12 noon Ride begins at 1 p. Begins a Mayland CC and will travel throughout Mitchell, Avery, Yancey, McDowell and Carter counties. The evening ride will end with dinner and a FREE concert provided by MCC. Performance by "Coming up Brass". We will have door prizes, good food, music and a great day of riding. Cost is $20 per driver/$10 for riders Proceeds go to American Cancer Society and Mayland Community College Scholarships.

Mitchell Crafts Fair People from all across America know that the place to be on the first Friday and Saturday in August is the charming Town Square of Burnsville, NC. The 54th Annual Mt.
