A Word About the Technology
We are providing these clips to you using the latest video technologies available for the Internet. Each has inherent strengths and weaknesses. Please choose the clip you would like to view by clicking on the appropriate icon at the right of the description. If you do not have the player for a media type installed on your computer, you can follow the links below to download it for free.
QuickTime
QuickTime is the originator of multimedia content, and has been the standard in CD-ROM presentations for years. Originated by Apple Computer, QuickTime is available for both Windows and Macintosh computers. The audio and video quality in QuickTime is superb. However, file sizes for QuickTime clips are larger than those for other media, but the multimedia experience is better than with other formats.

Real Video
Real video provides the smallest file format for download and is widely supported. Many computers have the Real Player already installed on them. However, the audio and video quality is lower than that of other formats, but the speed of download often offsets the quality.

Windows Media
Windows Media is Microsoft's entry into audio and video on the Internet. A default installation on recent Windows computer systems, Windows Media provides an integrated viewing and listening experience for the user, and gives developers special tools to develop and distribute content. Windows Media is also available for Macintosh computers. However, the format is fairly new and compression codecs are still being developed that will reduce file sizes, which are comparable to QuickTime.
