Because of the snow storm last weekend, the Burnsville Christmas Parade has been re-scheduled for Saturday, December 15, starting at 3pm. The event is sponsored by the Burnsville-Yancey Chamber of Commerce.

Parade on Saturday, Dec 15 at 3pm

The Burnsville Christmas Parade features Santa Claus riding in his sleigh, floats built by churches and local organizations, horses & wagons, vintage cars, trucks & tractors, and the Mountain Heritage Marching Band. The theme for 2018 is Christmas Homecoming.

Pictures With Santa

On Friday, December 7, the day before the Christmas Parade, Santa will visit the Burnsville Town Center from 5:30pm to 8pm. Kids can tell him what they want for Christmas and have their pictures made with Santa for free. There will also be Caroling on the Square from 5:30pm to 8pm that evening.

Churches, civic groups, individuals and organizations spend time making floats, getting their cars ready, and bringing their horses downtown for the parade. It’s a chance for the entire community to come together.
