1pm: Jonah Riddle: He takes care of banjo duties in the group, playing a style that is quickly fading away in today’s business. You can easily hear the Stanley, Scruggs, and Osbourne influences in his sound, the sounds of the pioneers. Grayson is on guitar and does all of the groups lead singing.
3pm: Crossfire Bluegrass Band: From Sparta, NC, play great bluegrass renditions from band members Joe Willey, Jerel Willey, Justin Willey, and Bill Paul.
Looking for an experience that’s “out of this world”? Emerald Village offers night-time underground mine tours that unlock vibrant hidden colors available only under ultraviolet light, commonly called black light. The brilliant coatings in the Bon Ami Mine are largely deposits of Hyalite Opal, a true form of opal found in this area. Under shortwave ultraviolet light, these coatings fluoresce or glow a vivid lime green. The effect, underground at night, is stunning!
