Founded in 1956, the Mount Mitchell Crafts Fair is coordinated and sponsored by the Burnsville-Yancey Chamber of Commerce.

Held annually on the first Friday and Saturday in August, the Fair fills historic downtown Burnsville, showcasing more than 200 vendors and performers. Visitors can enjoy live bluegrass and acoustic music, delicious food vendors, and a wide array of handmade arts and crafts from skilled artisans.
