About the Chamber

Achieve More Together

The Burnsville-Yancey Chamber is a non-partisan, non-profit, local organization forming a network of businesses, professionals, and local citizens working together to build a healthy economy and improve quality of life. We serve more than 300 members and work to grow community through advocacy and development.  As a collective group we drive solutions for a vibrant economy.

Where we are

Yancey County is located in the heart of the Blue Ridge Mountains, just 35 miles northeast of Asheville. An exceptional place to live, work, or visit, Yancey County is home to five of the highest mountains in the eastern United States including Mt. Mitchell, the highest peak east of the Mississippi River (6,684 feet).

Established in 1834, the town of Burnsville surrounds Main Street with independently-owned shops, restaurants, and art galleries. The iconic Town Square is a gathering place for the community where special events are held throughout the year.

The Chamber and Visitor Center are situated on West Main Street inside a former garage and filling station. A 1922 Dodge Roadster in the lobby serves as a reminder of the building’s past.
