1pm: Sound Traveler. Bob & Patty Tatum, play acoustic vocal and instrumental renditions of popular classics from genres as diverse as classic rock & pop, folk, classy standards, country, blues, light jazz, and gospel on guitar, trumpet, bass, mandolin, harmonica, banjo, concertina, and percussion. What a time.
3pm: Never Too Late: A seasoned bluegrass band with decades of music experience. Formed in 2001, they have produced two CDs and were invited to perform a one-hour TV show on a Winston Salem PBS station. The band consists of Kent Huffman on upright bass, David Dickerson on Mandolin, Brent Fain on guitar, and Bruce Hill on banjo. Expert instrumentation and tight vocal harmonies have become their trademark.
1pm: Terry McKinney: He grew up in Mitchell and McDowell counties surrounded by traditional mountain music, and he has been singing and playing gospel, mountain, bluegrass, or classic country music most of his life. To Terry music is his first love and the audiences love him.
3pm: Bearwallow: Morganton, NC, based Bearwallow performs a unique blend of progressive bluegrass, old-timey folk, and classic country. They constantly look to reach new heights and audiences as they continue on their musical adventure.
1pm: Smokey Joe: During Smokey Joe’s 35-year career, he has played as the house band for a live radio show, was nominated for string band of the year while playing with the Wisteria String Band and won the Charlotte Music Awards “Country Show Case” with The Smokey Joe Show in 2008.
3pm: Amantha Mill: A community-oriented folk/bluegrass act with one foot rooted firmly in our heritage and the other planted in exploring new acoustic sounds.
